Sauvignon 'Picol' Lis Neris 2013

The Sauvignon "Picol" by Lis Neris is a surprisingly white wine, soft and shiny, with a very long persistence of rich fruity notes. The merit of this wine is to be found in the historical story of the winery Lis Neris, active in the Friuli wine scene since 1879. Lis Neris is located in the heart of the most renowned wine-growing region of Friuli, in the municipality of San Lorenzo, Slovenian border between the north and the right bank of the river Isonzo in south. Right here, Alvaro Pecorari, surveyor and architect failed, around twenty-five years decided to establish in the family winery, with the aim to expand and improve the project begun by his father in the seventies. The work undertaken has proved very satisfactory, and this Sauvignon "Picol" is a perfect example: a wine by the territorial nature, elegant and expressive, thanks to its balanced fruity flavors. A wine from year to year surprises for its consistent quality, which captivates with its whole complexity and demanding its structure but never tiring. A perfectly enjoyable wine already, but it also lends itself well to a few years of additional aging.
