The Rosso di Montalcino by Fattoi is one of those great Tuscan wines that impress with the beautiful freshness and character they express. We are in the beautiful land of Montalcino, on vineyards that are affected by the winds coming from the sea and allowing perfect ripening of the grapes. Fattoi is one of those wineries that leave a mark: Ofelio is an historic winemaker of the denomination; a winemaker who has given us, year after year, wines of great personality, maybe sometimes grumpy but always explaining the territory of origin. At 350 meters above sea level, in the southern part of the territory of Montalcino, extending the vineyard that gives birth to this Rosso di Montalcino; comes from a vintage place entirely by hand in early October, by fermentation and maceration on the skins for 15-20 days, with a refinement that begins the following spring and that is partly in cement vats and partly in oak barrels. The Rosso di Montalcino by Fattoi looks clear in the glass, almost brilliant, with a ruby red color that would indicate an intense aroma of fresh fruit; the palate is dry, strong, with a nice freshness.
