Negroamaro 'Capoposto' Alberto Longo 2017

The Negroamaro "Capoposto" is the wine that tells more than any other philosophy and soul of Alberto Longo, a manufacturer of which we find it hard not to get hooked. The "Capoposto" is a Negroamaro in purity that is vinified only in steel to preserve its aromatic richness and do not change with aging in wood. Comparing it to the nose will immediately struck by the intense hints of ripe cherry, cocoa, liquorice sweet, pink pepper. We are among the Fattoria Cavalli and Masseria Celentano, near Lucera, on 35 hectares of vineyards, with vines spurred cordon, with a very low yield per hectare. Here Negroamaro has found its natural habitat; a great vine Puglia whose name is very old and comes from etymology as "niger" and "maru", the first Latin and the second Greek, but both with the same meaning as "black"; as black is the color of the berry that leaves just hints of reddish hues. Alberto Longo was able to extract the best features and the choice to vinify exclusively steel goes in this direction: to better enhance it, preserving its dense texture and dense, strong and intense, soft and fine tannins.
