Etna Bianco Planeta 2020

The magic and beauty of Sicily find a very valid interpreter in Planeta, a recently established winery, founded only in 1995, which in the space of a few decades has managed to establish itself as a point of reference in oenology throughout the island. Merit for sincere and well-crafted products, such as this Etna Bianco, which comes to life from the enhancement of an indigenous grape variety, Carricante, bred on the estates that have the great volcano as their backdrop. This is an award-winning bottle with an excellent mineral component, both on the nose and on the palate, carrying a fresh and drinkable sip, ideal for accompanying courses that have fish and seafood as the main ingredient.

Etna Bianco comes from grapes of a noble and prized native Sicilian grape variety, Carricante. The clusters, which grow within the vineyards of the Feudo di Mezzo estate, within a terroir of lava origin about 700 meters above sea level, are harvested by hand. Once they reach the winemaking facilities, the grapes are lightly pressed, then alcoholically fermented in both steel and oak tonneaux. This is followed by the maturation stage, which is carried out in both steel and medium-capacity wooden barrels.

Planeta's Etna Bianco is a Sicilian wine that, in the glass, has a light hue, reminiscent of golden yellow. The aromas that develop on the nose are precise and well delineated, and are organized on fruity and mineral notes. On the palate it is light-bodied, subtle, velvety, with a decidedly refreshing and enveloping sip, developed on a savory texture. A young and jaunty label, which transports us with grace and refinement within the splendid Etnean terroir.
