Efeso Librandi 2015

The white wine “Efeso” comes from the ancient grape Mantonico, a native vine of Calabria. The winemaking process developed by Librandi winery makes a wine with a fresh taste, fruity scents and with a pleasant aftertaste. The company is located in Librandi Ciro Marina, a town on the Ionian coast of Calabria located near Punta Alice promontory south of the Gulf of Taranto. This area is particularly suited for grape growing, thanks to the natural inclination of the ground, and the geographical position, not far from the sea and the mountains of Sila. This position ensures optimal temperature range between day and night, which allowed the grapes to perfect ripeness in the most easy and simple as possible. Wine growers for four generations, the company became in the early '50s a modern complex of wine making and bottling. The main purpose of Anthony and Nicodemus, the leader of this historic winery, has always been to pay more attention to the Calabrian native vines, too often forgotten in the last years of winemaking in Calabria. Thanks to this cellar some native vines have recovered their former luster.
