Brunello di Montalcino by Terre Nere tells the story of a "back-to-the-roots" choice: the one made by Pasquale Vallone in 1997, when he decided to resume a family passion, buying a beautiful piece of land near Castelnuovo dell'Abate, an high-selected area for Brunello. The Sangiovese vineyards planted along time are located in one of the best areas of the district of Montalcino, south-east of the hill on whose summit stands the Castle of Velata. The vine rows, constantly caressed by a breeze that rises from the valley of the Ente creek between Monte Amiata and Monte Nero, are surrounded by woods, in a pristine environment, with inserts of clay and limestone. The company name derives from the nature of this particularly dark soil, with a rich presence of rocks, tending to assume characteristic blacks contours in rainy periods. The wine range proposed by Pasquale revolves around a thorough search on the Brunello, adopting a style that emphasizes the harmony of expression of the fruit, without giving too much austerity, recalling the taste timbre of the authentic Montalcino wines. Brunello by Terre Nere, aged in large oak casks, has a considerable breadth of aromas to the nose, with enveloping tannins and an acidity which predict a long period of evolution: its taste was a revelation for us, and we hope the same will happen with you.
