Barolo Massolino 2018

Massolino's Barolo is one of the finest expressions of the Serralunga d'Alba territory; an expression expertly crafted by one of the wineries with the most recognition and experience in Langhe. A history inextricably linked to the vineyards of Serralunga d'Alba, ever since 1896 when Giovanni decided to found his wine business; enterprising, tenacious, stubborn and creative, Giovanni in just a few years managed to realize his dream, filling his family's history with pride and a heritage that has done nothing but grow over the years, becoming one of the most recognized Langhe wineries in Italy and the rest of the World.

Barolo Massolino is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown on the wonderful vineyards of the Serralunga d'Alba area: rolling hills, with an altitude ranging from 320 to 360 meters above sea level, on soils rich in limestone, exposed to the southern sun, from vines ranging in age from 10 to 55 years. Fermentation takes place on the skins in steel for about 15 days and aging in oak barrels for 30 months. At the end of this production process, the wine presents a classic and traditional profile, characterized by a severe elegance that is purely Piemontese.

Massolino's Barolo is one of the finest expressions of the Serralunga d'Alba terroir, subzones that impart a wide range of aromas that range from fruity to floral notes, combining a truly intense and complex spiciness. The sip is austere, structured and persistent. It does not fear aging and is able to represent with all its personality the true character of the Langhe.
