Barolo 'Cannubi' Giacomo Brezza 2017

Barolo "Cannubi" Giacomo Brezza is one of the flagship wines of the Brezza winery, a great name in Barolo. A wine born of the attachment to a unique and exceptional territory and respect for tradition lived with dynamism and vivacity.

"Cannubi" Barolo by Giacomo Brezza was born in the renowned cru of Cannubi, a very ancient soil, formed 10 million years ago, consisting of more or less compact sands alternating with grey sandstones. Here the grapes are harvested in October and, placed by hand in small baskets, arrive intact in the cellar, where they are destemmed and collected in fermenters. Alcoholic fermentation lasts about 7/8 days, with capillary maceration and several replacements. After malolactic fermentation, the wine goes into Slavonian oak barrels, where it matures for at least two years. Before release, the Barolo rests for another year in numbered bottles, stored in a special temperature-controlled room.

Brezza's Barolo "Cannubi" stands out for its great elegance, which has earned it awards and recognition. To the nose it is very inviting, with floral, slightly balsamic hints and fairytale-like evocations of violets, wild strawberries, rose petals and mint leaves. To the palate it is precise and clear, fruity, pleasantly fresh, with fine tannins and a finish punctuated by balsamic trails. A Barolo that excels in elegance and tonicity, a perfect representative of the name of Cannubi, of the Brezza winery, of great Piedmont wine.
