Antolini

Vineyards of the Antolini estate rise at an altitude between 150 and 350 meters and cover a total area of about 9 hectares, distributed over the hills of the municipalities of Marano di Valpolicella, San Pietro in Cariano and Negrar. The varietal platform is dedicated to the local grape varieties Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and Croatina, accompanied by smaller percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garganega and Trebbiano, all varieties cultivated through the traditional double pergola system or with the more widespread guyot form. Many rows are planted on the the so-called "marogne", characteristic dry stone walls that support terraces exposed to the southwest and southeast. The high temperature excursions between day and night then give intense aromas to the wines, made even more complex by the clayey, calcareous and tuffaceous nature of the soils. From the very beginning, the Antolini brothers chose to apply the principles of integrated pest management in such a way as to minimize the use of pesticides, preferring rather alternative techniques such as sexual confusion and mechanical weeding. Fermentations occur completely spontaneously in stainless steel tanks while for the aging of the flagship wines, oak, cherry, chestnut or mulberry barrels of different capacities are adopted.
